On April 1st, Professor Sirong Yi, a national-level teaching master, Deputy Director of the Higher Education Civil Engineering Professional Evaluation Committee of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and a doctoral supervisor at Southwest Jiaotong University, was invited to guide our university's professional accreditation (evaluation) work. Over 40 teachers, including Deputy Dean Xinjie Wang and Xia Xu, attended the meeting, which Dean Pinghua Zhu chaired.

 Drawing from her extensive experience in engineering education professional accreditation, Professor Sirong Yi expounded on the education concept of student-centered, the education system output-oriented, and the quality view of continuous improvement. She analyzed the core elements of engineering education professional certification, addressing the challenging and critical issues that arise during the certification process, such as curriculum revision, setting course objectives, meeting graduation requirements, developing assessment and evaluation systems, preparing reports and support materials, and maintaining accreditation status. She emphasized the significance of adopting an output-oriented approach, understanding various certification concepts, and fostering collaboration among departments at all levels within schools.

 During the on-site exchange session, Professor Sirong Yi engaged in in-depth discussions with the attending teachers, thoroughly addressing their questions and concerns.

 Through this training and exchange session, our university's teachers gained a deeper understanding of the concept of engineering education professional certification, which will positively impact the continuous improvement of our school's civil engineering professional certification and other professional certification applications.

 Brief Introduction of Professor Sirong Yi:

Professor Sirong Yi is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Southwest Jiaotong University. As a national-level teaching master, she receives special government allowances. Professor Yi has long been involved in teaching, scientific research, and engineering consulting in railway route selection design theory, modern technology of railway survey and design, railway transportation engineering, and maglev railway engineering. In recent years, she has led over 20 significant scientific research projects, including national scientific and technological key projects, national 863 projects, and key scientific research projects for the Ministry of Railways. She is among the first group of young and middle-aged experts in urban rail transit, an academic and technical leader in Sichuan Province, and the Deputy Director of the Higher Education Civil Engineering Professional Accreditation Committee of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. She also serves as a member of the Teaching Instruction Committee for Railway Transport and Engineering of Higher Education Institutions under the Ministry of Education, a member of the Instruction Committee for Railway Engineering (Railway Engineering) of the Railway Department, and the Vice Chairman of the Technical Committee on Standardization (Line Station) of the China Railway Society.
